Audacy: Keeping it Simple When the Brand Is Complicated

For this innovative new remote lighting automation system, Damen Jackson undertook everything from early naming exploration and brand development to the design and execution of a complicated website interface with corresponding mobile app. Further, Damen Jackson shepherded Audacy through every aspect of brand research and design for its extensive packaged product portfolio and online control system. Concisely articulated brand design guidelines and a content archive likewise fueled the development of all sales and marketing materials for a successful brand launch.

Aeriz: In a Strict Regulatory Environment, DJ Nimbly Positions Cannabis Brand for Success

Laws prevent this industry from being able to promote, advertise or otherwise communicate directly with customers outside of the dispensary. Our packaging design challenge focused on differentiation, shelf impact, shopability for consumers and stockability for the retailer. During initial naming exploration, DJ landed on Aeriz, a new word that captures the company’s unique cultivation method wherein cannabis plants grow in air – steps beyond conventional planting or even hydroponics. Point-of-sale merchandising and packaging would become our only focus, although our bold design would further need to meet stringent requirements for tamper-resistance and child safety.

Falcon: Developing a Brand About Societal Change

Long a leading consultant in the behavioral health realm for jails and prisons, Dr. Elizabeth Falcon hired Damen Jackson to develop a brand – from soup to nuts – that would represent the “Mercedes Benz” of correctional market consultancies. Bringing together a partnership that included two of her most respected peers, Dr. Falcon’s stated goal for Falcon Inc. was to reimagine jails and prisons and improve society. No small order.

Falcon brand identity explored a range of conceptual and literal options. The conservative nature of mental health and corrections communities would guide us, but we were determined to design a breath-through brand experience. Under the gun to launch simultaneously with an American Jailers Association conference, Damen Jackson stayed true to our Memorably Simple mantra while synthesizing a large volume of content and brand insights. This drove our comprehensive messaging strategy for the robust Falcon website, an evocative print ad campaign and a long-term social media strategy.
