The Challenge

Owens Corning® developed the successor to its legendary PINK® Fiberglas ™ insulation, and subsequently required a fresh new packaging design to celebrate the most significant technological advancement in their core product line in decades. As part of the OC Global Packaging Team, Damen Jackson was tapped to provide packaging design recommendations for batts, rolls and accessories.

The Approach

Our team collaborated with the OC business unit to define program expectations, understand user needs and identify metrics of success in advance of developing any design work. We then generated a range of design concepts which clearly differentiated the new product launch, yet still adhered to global brand standards.

The Results

The updated packaging is far more approachable, easier to read, and creates strong color blocking in home center aisles. When consumers see the Pink Panther, they know they’re investing in a high quality and trustworthy product. The addition of icons on pack tells the story of how PINK Next Gen™ Fiberglas ™ is truly The New Standard in home and commercial insulation.
